A daily pause, a shared journey
March 15, 2026 Thought of the Day
Today, I've been reflecting on intimacy. Many people think of intimacy as sex but it's so much more than that. Intimacy occurs when there's a deep connection with your partner. It's felt in the heart to heart conversations, the sharing of childhood memories, embarrassing moments, adventures, date nights and also in those quiet unspoken moments. It's even felt in the day to day tasks that you share. It can be silent but when you have it you know it. It's something to be cherished and held onto as tightly as possible. When you lose your partner you also lose true intimacy. When its gone the void runs deep. Sometimes I miss this so much. It becomes something I crave and I look for. I have tried unsuccessfully to find it and sometimes wonder if I should just be happy that I was lucky enough to have this once in my lifetime. Am I being greedy? Is it too much to try to get a little piece of what I lost back into my life?

Today's quiet reflection
Today, I've been thinking about the quiet courage it takes to rebuild. Not the courage celebrated in stories, but the daily, often invisible acts of bravery: making a new friend, trying a new hobby, or simply getting out of bed on a tough morning. These small victories accumulate, forming a tapestry of resilience. Some days, these acts feel effortless, while others are monumental struggles. I think it has to do with what is going on in your life at the time. The more stress or other life challenges you face can make these acts of courage feel even bigger. It makes me wonder, do others feel this way?
